Tony Marangos gained a BSc in Physiology and Biochemistry of Farm Animals at Reading University and received his PhD – ‘The Effects of Rapeseed Meals on Health and Production of Poultry and Pigs’ - from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London.

Since graduating in 1975 he has held senior management positions in the animal production, feed and supply industry in the UK.

Early experience in a feed mill has given him a good working insight into its management and day-to-day functions. This background has proved invaluable in all subsequent positions held within the industry.

As Technical Director of a leading integrated poultry operation in the UK he had the responsibility for the introduction and management of Quality Systems in the UK such as BS5750, ISO9000 and UFAS, which incorporate HACCP and biosecurity principles in feed manufacture.

He has extensive experience in the development, specification and manufacture of diets for poultry kept in all systems of production namely, intensive, free range and organic.

He has gained in-depth experience in the nutritional and economic evaluation of raw materials, particularly in relation to problems associated with their anti-nutritive factors.

In 2000 Dr Marangos started his own Consultancy, Nutrition Solutions, and now has contracts with a number of feed manufacturers and primary-breeding companies involving him in extensive advisory work both nationally and internationally.
